The Char Dham Yatra is one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimages in India, taking devotees to four sacred shrines – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath – nestled in the majestic Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Each of these holy sites holds deep spiritual significance, representing the sources of the sacred rivers Yamuna and Ganga, and the revered temples of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Pilgrims believe that undertaking this journey washes away sins and opens the path to salvation.
The yatra usually takes place between April/May and October/November when the weather is favorable and the temples are open. Apart from its religious importance, the Char Dham route offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, and pristine rivers. It is a blend of spirituality and adventure, attracting not only devotees but also nature lovers and trekkers from around the world.
